Agrifood and CIHEAM Zaragoza have signed a collaboration agreement for the dissemination of the first edition of the Olive Oil World Congress (OOWC) and the previous promotional actions that will take place in 2023 under the slogan "On the Road to OOWC".
The international meeting, which will be held in June 2024 in Madrid, aims to bring together the sector's main institutions, production and commercial entities with the objective of generating knowledge about new developments and innovations in each link of the value chain.
CIHEAM Zaragoza, an international benchmark in agri-food cooperation in the Mediterranean, carries out a wide range of training, research and transfer activities related to sustainable olive growing in collaboration with universities, companies and various international organisations.
With the signing of this agreement, the OOWC increases its international dissemination capacity in a strategic region for the production and consumption of olive oil such as the Mediterranean. In fact, more than 98% of olive oil production is located in the Mediterranean area, which is the area with the highest consumption of this product.
Undoubtedly, an important agreement through which both organisations will take advantage of the synergies existing between them, and which will be complemented by the participation of the main operators in the sector worldwide.
