AGROCOLOR, faithful to its appointment with the agri-food sector of Extremadura, is participating in the international fair AGROEXPO which is being held until 28 January in Don Benito, with a stand (No. 304) located in Hall 3 of the fair institution.
Coinciding with the celebration of AGROCOLOR's 25th Anniversary, this certifier has held this morning an event to distinguish 'The Best of Extremadura', thus recognising the great work of professionals and institutions in the region in favour of the development of the agri-food sector of the community, which has become the basic pillar of the Extremaduran economy.
Three awards were presented:
- Icíar Muñoz Carrero, manager of Dehesa San Salvador, for her contribution to the agricultural development of the community. AGROCOLOR thus recognises her important work as an agricultural engineer and as a producer, cultivating and transforming Aloe Vera into healthy products to take care of ourselves inside and out. Icíar is an example of dynamism and entrepreneurship; being a young and innovative farmer and businesswoman, she symbolises the profile of the new generations that the sector needs.
- Escuela de Ingenierías Agrarias de Badajoz, for the great work of this institution in the field of training professionals and in scientific research for the agri-food industry in the community. This school is the oldest centre dedicated to university-level agri-food education in Extremadura. Each year, around 600 students enrol in it. The Badajoz School of Agricultural Engineering has trained 5,200 graduates since 1973, the year in which the school was created as we know it today. The director of the School, Gabino Esteban Calderón, received the award.
- The Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Population and Territory of the Regional Government of Extremadura, to recognise the role played by the autonomous institution in favouring the development of a fundamental sector for the community. This ministry has been a key figure in the evolution and growth of the sector, playing a dynamic role in the whole of agriculture in this region and, by extension, in the economy of Extremadura. It is worth highlighting its constant support to the sector in order to jointly face the most immediate challenges of the agri-food sector in the region. The Regional Minister, Begoña García Bernal was in charge of collecting this distinction.
The chairman of AGROCOLOR, Miguel Rodríguez de la Rubia, thanked everyone for attending this event with which "from AGROCOLOR we wanted to pay a small tribute to the whole of the agri-food sector in Extremadura represented in these three distinctions: to the farmers who work hard every day to move their plantations forward; as well as to the institutions that make our sector advance and improve to continue on the path of innovation".
De la Rubia went on to explain that "for AGROCOLOR it is very important to continue supporting Extremadura agriculture because its protagonists have helped us to get to where we are today. We will continue to work for and with them, optimising our services and contributing to their development and certifying the best of Extremadura".
