The International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition - CA Ovibeja Award has consolidated its 14th edition as a benchmark event in the global olive oil industry. Organised by ACOS - Southern Farmers' Association, with the support of Casa do Azeite and the exclusive sponsorship of Crédito Agrícola, this contest has highlighted the best extra virgin olive oils produced both in Portugal and in other parts of the world.
The event was a key platform for olive oil producers, promoting quality and competitiveness in the sector and opening doors to new international markets. In addition, this important event has reinforced the global projection of the extra virgin olive oil culture, with the participation of oils from different regions.
The samples submitted were evaluated by an international jury, chaired by the expert José Gouveia, who awarded prizes to those oils that stood out for their technical quality, authenticity and sensory profile. The competition categories included Intense Green Fruity, Medium Green Fruity, Light Green Fruity, Ripe Fruity and a special category for oils from the southern hemisphere.
Announcement of the winners
The winning oils will be announced on 3 May 2025 during the Ovibeja fair in Beja, Portugal. This international event will offer the winners an excellent opportunity to present their products to a specialised audience, which will increase their visibility and expansion in the global market. The fair, which brings together producers, distributors and consumers, will also be an occasion to promote innovation and quality in olive oil production.
