#BeyondOliveOil contest deadline extended!

The Olive Oil World Congress (OOWC) has announced an extension of the deadline for participating in the international contest #BeyondOliveOil—a global invitation for consumers, producers, and olive oil enthusiasts to explore new ways of using this product… beyond the kitchen!

Olive oil is an incredibly versatile ingredient that can unleash creativity in many fields. Not only is it essential in gastronomy, but it can also serve as the base for innovative products—from signature cocktails and natural cosmetics to wellness therapies.

Let your imagination run wild! Whether you're a producer or simply passionate about olive oil, share your idea with the world and compete for a €1,000 prize.

Participation is free and open to adults. To take part, participants must create an Instagram post (a feed post, reel, or carousel) showing how they use olive oil in an original way. The post must be published on their profile using the hashtag #BeyondOliveOil and tagging the Olive Oil World Congress (@OliveOilWC). The more engagement the post receives, the higher the final score.

An international jury, composed of members of the OOWC Organizing and Scientific Committees, will evaluate submissions based on their originality, feasibility, and impact on social media.

In addition, associations and institutions from the olive oil sector are encouraged to motivate their members to participate—and compete to be the organization with the most creative idea!

Backed by major organizations such as the International Olive Council (IOC), Torribera Mediterranean Center, University of Barcelona, The Culinary Institute of America, CIHEAM Zaragoza, Casa do Azeite, and the North American Olive Oil Association (NAOOA), the contest aims to showcase the extraordinary versatility of olive oil, both in personal use and in the creation of alternative products that challenge traditional expectations.

Join the olive oil revolution and show the world its endless possibilities!

The OOWC also invites companies and institutions interested in joining this collaborative project to explore sponsorship and partnership opportunities. For more information, contact the OOWC Technical Secretariat by phone at +34 91 721 79 29 or by email at info@oliveoilwc.com.
