Last days to participate in the 'Beyond Olive Oil' Contest!

The Olive Oil World Congress (OOWC) has launched the international #BeyondOliveOil competition, inviting consumers, producers and olive oil enthusiasts to showcase their creativity and explore new ways of using this versatile ingredient beyond the kitchen. Olive oil is not only essential in gastronomy, but can also be used to create innovative products such as unique cocktails, natural cosmetics and even wellness therapies.

Hurry up! The deadline for entries is 4 April, and the winner will receive a prize of €1,000. An international jury will evaluate the proposals on the basis of their originality, feasibility and impact on social media. In addition, associations and institutions in the olive sector can encourage their members to participate and be the organisation with the most creative idea.

To participate, those interested must create a publication on Instagram (post, reel or carousel) showing an original application of olive oil, using the hashtag #BeyondOliveOil and tagging the Olive Oil World Congress (@OliveOilWC). The more reactions the post receives, the higher the final score.

This competition is supported by important institutions in the olive sector, such as the International Olive Oil Council (IOC), the Torribera Mediterranean Center, the University of Barcelona, the Culinary Institute of America, CIHEAM Zaragoza, Casa do Azeite and the North American Olive Oil Association (NAOOA). This competition seeks to highlight the great versatility of olive oil, both in its personal use and in the creation of new alternative products that defy current expectations.
