The Olive Oil World Congress (OOWC), in collaboration with the International Olive Oil Council (IOC), CIHEAM Zaragoza and the Mediterranean Diet Foundation will be held from June 26 to 28 at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in Madrid. A meeting that will bring together all operators in the sector worldwide, with the aim of joining forces to continue working together.
The Scientific Committee, made up of more than one hundred technology centers, research centers and universities from all over the world, is finalizing a complete program of lectures focused on bringing together the world's leading speakers in each subject, generating knowledge on new developments and innovations in each link of the value chain.
Jaime Lillo, Executive Director of the IOC, will be in charge of opening the program with the plenary lecture of the congress, which is structured in eight thematic blocks that will address all the links in the value chain of the olive grove and olive oil sector.
On June 26, the following blocks will be held: 'Olive oil facing climate change'; 'Genetics and crop production'; and 'Challenges in manufacturing Processes: 'Digital transformation and valorization of by-products'.
The second day will begin with the block on 'Product Quality and Safety', followed by 'Sensory Properties' and will conclude with the block on 'Communication and marketing'. This second day will end with the congress dinner at the Real Casino de Madrid.
