Reyes ranks Expoliva 2023 as the most international show to date

The president of the Diputación de Jaén and president of Ferias Jaén, Francisco Reyes, today took stock of the XXI International Fair of Olive Oil and Related Industries, Expoliva 2023, together with the territorial delegate of Agriculture of the Junta de Andalucía and executive president of the Fundación del Olivar, Soledad Aranda, a ceremony in which he stressed that "this new edition of Expoliva can be classified as one of the best in its 40 years of history and the most international of all those that have been held, due to the fact that it is one of the best in its 40 years of history, Soledad Aranda, an event in which she emphasised that "the celebration of this new edition of Expoliva can be catalogued as one of the best in its 40-year history and the most international of all those that have been held, which has reinforced its hegemony as the main event in the olive oil sector in the world". During his speech, the president of the Diputación de Jaén and of Ferias Jaén highlighted "the participation of foreign professionals, more than 2,300 from 24 countries and 4 continents".

In addition to Expoliva 2023's global projection, there is also its national scope, with the participation of companies from 11 Spanish autonomous communities and 31 provinces. "Both exhibitors and visitors have expressed their satisfaction and have praised the high level of specialisation that this exhibition is acquiring, as more and more participating companies are taking advantage of their presence at the fair to showcase their technical innovations", pointed out Reyes. Regarding the number of visitors to this new edition of the fair, the head of the provincial administration stated that "with only three hours to go before Expoliva 2023 draws to a close, we can already describe it as a magnificent edition, with well over 50,000 visitors, which means that we can say that the pre-pandemic levels have been recovered".

Similarly, Reyes has valued the business response "with the presence of more than 300 exhibitors, who have fully occupied the nearly 33,000 square metres of exhibition space, and the participation of 1,623 national and international companies and 5,432 brands represented. "All these parameters endorse the enormous size and impact of Expoliva 2023, which has confirmed the high expectations aroused by this edition and once again confirms that this fair is the most important of all those held in the world in the olive oil sector", remarked the president of the Provincial Council and of Ferias Jaén, who emphasised that this "is another of the strong arguments that we have in the province of Jaén to claim the leadership that it holds in everything related to the world of the olive grove and olive oil".

With regard to the presentations on technical and scientific advances in the olive oil sector, which also have Expoliva as a stage for their projection and enhancement, Francisco Reyes pointed out "the important participation of more than 120 experts in the five forums that have been part of the programme of the Technical Scientific Symposium". Similarly, he referred to the contacts made during the celebration of the show, which for example have totaled more than 200 between the two trade missions held during these days, which have involved agri-food companies from Jaén and buyers from the United States and Mexico - in the mission of the Chamber of Commerce of Linares with the collaboration of the Diputación - and also in the one organized by Extenda in which companies from 18 countries have been present.

In terms of employment generated, Expoliva 2023 has meant the direct hiring of 545 people, in addition to the more than 2,000 people who have worked indirectly in the exhibition and the nearly 1,000 who have developed their work during the assembly of the same. In this line, Francisco Reyes has also valued the economic impact that has meant the celebration of a new edition of Expoliva, "a fair in which all the actors of the world of the olive grove want to be and has turned out to be a success, so from the organization we are very satisfied with the work developed both in the months prior to the celebration of the same, as well as during its development throughout these four days," concluded the president of the Diputación de Jaén and Ferias Jaén.
