The Olive Oil World Congress met for the first time on December 12 to officially set up its Scientific Committee and address various issues related to the development of the congress's technical programme.
The function of the Scientific Committee from now on will be to decide on the most interesting topics and speakers for the congress.
During the meeting, the work plan for the development of the OOWC 2024 programme was agreed upon, as well as the activities planned for 2023 as part of "On the road to OOWC 2024".
The committee is made up of academics, researchers and both national and international specialists in the world of olive oil from different organisations, companies and administrations such as Agrocolor, the National Association of Industrial Packers and Refiners of Edible Oils (ANIERAC), the Spanish Association of the Olive Oil Export Industry and Trade (ASOLIVA), the Community of Madrid, DCOOP, Fundación Dieta Mediterránea, Instituto de la Grasa, Fundación Patrimonio Comunal Olivarero, Instituto de Investigación y Tecnología Agroalimentarias (IRTA), DOP Montes de Toledo, Universidad de Córdoba, ICEX, Junta de Castilla-La Mancha, Cooperativas Agroalimentarias de Andalucía, DO Les Garrigues, Sectorial Nacional DO, Consejería de Agricultura, Pesca, Agua y Desarrollo Rural de Andalucía, Aceites Arges, Diputación de Jaén, Yara, Aceite de Madrid, Aceites Malagón and SGS.
