The Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development has opened the public exhibition period of the first Andalusian Strategy for olive grove sector document 2023-. Today´s BOJA publishes the official notice, what opens a 1-month period (until December 22, 2023) to present any allegation to the text, which is aimed to establish the basis for the Andalusian olive sector growing for the next years.
The proposal that goes on public exhibition is the result of the work done by technicians from the Regional Ministry, representatives of the sector and researchers from the universities of Jaén and Córdoba, who have shaped a proposal that promotes the efficiency and sustainability of the sector on a social, economic and environmental level. In this sense, this Strategy, which has also counted with contributions from other Councils, bets on an efficient, balanced and trasnparent value chain, with an oriented swithc into digitalization and internationalization of the Andalusian olive grove.
The Andalusian Strategy por the Olive Grove Sector 2023-2027 seeks to impulse the differentiated quality of the Andalusian olive production throughout Origin Designations (OD), Protected Geographic Indications (PGI) and Ecologic Production, as well as spreading the olive oil´s healthy face. Everything to make the Andalusian olive grove more competitive and rentable, so that the Andalusian Government foresees offering, with this tool, an important support to the industry and entrepreneurship in this field, at the same time it promotes the population fixing in the rural territory. Special interest will have the field of circular economy, that´ll amplify the possibilities to the sector through, for example, the generation of biogas and biomass utilisation.
